This place never disappoints! Will is very easy going and makes everyone feel welcome. The food is delicious! We like the small feel of the space and the interactions with the host and chef. They have a great selection of drinks too.

Pretty much spent the whole time watching the skilled and talented chef at work and wolfing down every course in record time. And I'm normally a very slow eater. Am already dreaming of the next time we get to come here. The asparagus and prosciutto and pesto: if in a public restaurant I could have licked my plate clean of every bit of the freshest and most amazing pesto I've ever had, without anyone noticing, I would have. This is coming from someone who normally never orders anything with pesto in it. Also the asparagus was very fresh and cooked to the perfect tenderness with just enough seasoning to bring out its natural sweetness. Arepa (pork): this was AMAZING. That's the best word to describe it. Duck atop orzo and greens: duck was tender and skin was crisp and savory. Loved the healthy greens with orzo and I think shaved Parmesan (not sure if that is accurate on the kind of cheese it was). Cherry upside-down cake with dollop of fresh whipped cream: you just have to look at the picture. Yummm.

One of my favorite spots in the city! Writing this review a few months late so I don't remember the dishes, but it's by far one of the best priced tasting menus I've had. I was told that the dishes (starter, entree, dessert) rotate based on seasonal produce, while the arepa remains an unchanged menu staple. Unlike other tasting menus in the city, I feel like the portion sizes here were filling and made for a really hearty meal. Everything is super flavorful, and I like the variety that the chefs offer with the four courses. The inside only seats 12, so I would highly recommend making reservations. It's an intimate space with bar seating, so it really allows for great conversations with both the chefs and with whoever you bring. My friend and I chose the bar seating, and we got to speak with the two chefs who shared their thought processes with their recipes while cooking, and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into their menu and that they're mindful of shopping locally. I love the people, the food, and the ambiance here, and would easily recommend it to anyone who's looking to have a great tasting menu experience.

Wow one of the best dining experiences I've had in SF! We were lucky enough to snag a last minute cancellation by looking on Resy the week of but this place only has 12 seats and two seatings a night and Resy reservations open 10 days in advance so set those alarms! We got to sit at the counter which I highly recommend because we could see the chef cook and also talk to him about the dishes and ingredients. He uses seasonal ingredients and experiments with new ingredients in his dishes (he picked a vegetable I've never heard about and used it in the arepa to add crunch and flavor). The meal was 4 courses for $45 a steal in SF. And we were full by the end of it. They change their menu every few weeks. First course was a croquet that was crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside but also light and filled with flavor, second course was an arepa (I think this was my fave) the pork was so tender and it had melty cheese, avo and the pickled vegetable that came together as the perfect bite Third course was quail! Wrapped in prosciutto! I was surprised it didn't have a lot of mini bones like quality usually has but the chef mentioned he did something to it so that it only has two main bones it in which was nice. Served over veggies and risotto Fourth course was kumquat pana cotta with pistachios. Another season fruit used in the meal. Refreshing and not too sweet and the pistachios added a nice crunch. Inside was small and intimate. Dimly lit. Service was great, there's only one server and he did an excellent job taking care of everyone. Hope to be back and try when they change the menu. Can't recommend this place enough.

Had a unique and wonderful experience at Mr. Pollo. Went for a birthday celebration, whole restaurant seats roughly 12, you'll need to reserve in advance as they don't do walk ins. The whole experience was really special, an excellent and moderately priced four course. The highlight for our group was the sauce on the Arepa. This is truly an unbeatable experience in San Francisco - a must try!

Mr. Pollo was a solid dinner right by 24th Street BART next to La Santaneca. Perfectly cozy and tasty food showcasing local produce. I booked on Resy, and apparently the reservations for the week open at noon on the Thursday before, so that's the time to snag a 6 pm or 8 pm seating. Just 12 seats for two seatings a night, so you can book out the place with your friends for a special evening. We knew we were in good hands when the starter was a butternut rugosa prosciutto croquette. A Thanksgiving squash we were familiar with, and Graham noted there was a farm in Nicasio that grew them. Spoiled about the arepa, but those maitake mushrooms and the pickled jicama-like veggie was so good, with some avocado to make it all creamy. Third course was the duck leg on barley, we ate up everything. And finished on a simple cake, candied kumquats. There's one pair of seats at the counter if you want to watch Chef Graham Bellefeuille at work. Definitely will be back!

So good! We were lucky enough to secure a reservation to celebrate a birthday. Mr Pollo is a small restaurant that has ~6 tables and some bar seating so not meant for large group celebrations. Because of that, it's a pretty intimate experience. Mr Pollo switches up their menu ~1 a week depending on what's in season. When we went, we had a delicious green bean salad, arepa, and a lamb tajine (main). Every item was very delicious. Can't wait to come back next time. Definitely make a reservation since their space is so small.

I had a lovely time at Mr Pollo; the setting is small and intimate but cozy, the food is no frills and delicious, and overall such a nice vibe for a semi-nice dinner. It's a two man show of owner and chef! The whole place only seats about 12, and you definitely get close to your table neighbors since it's a squeeze. We chose the bar seating and it directly faces the kitchen and the chef. The chef was so nice and talked with us the whole night, sharing stories about his 22 year career or describing ingredients and where he gets them locally. You can really tell he cares about food and is so knowledgable! Apparently the menu changes every few days, but turns over completely every 2 weeks ish. We had a chilled green bean salad, chicken arepa, pork loin entree, and french apple pie for dessert. We also tried the daily pineapple guava soda. I left feeling full but not overly stuffed, and it's such a nice place to chill and have a lovely dinner w a friend or partner. Everything was delicious and plated right in front of us! The owner Will was also gracious and cheery.

This was one of my favorite dining experiences in recent memory! Mr Pollo is a super laid back pre-set 4 course menu for $45 a person made by two chefs who were super chill and chatted with all the guests all night. You have to book ahead since they only have a few seatings a night but I was able to get one on a weekday fairly easily. Since the place is so small and intimate, you can watch them prepping each course. I loved getting a sneak peek of the next course and trying to guess what was coming up next. Our four courses involved a simple but delicious asparagus dish, an arepa, seared swordfish, and grapefruit kumquat posset. Everything was made with seasonal ingredients and local produce, and you could really tell. The dishes were all pretty simple but really well balanced and seasoned perfectly. In all honesty though, the dish I still continue to think about this day is the arepa. I've tried arepas before in other spots in the Mission but this was one of the best arepas I've had in my entire life. I wish I could come back and just order four courses of it. This place is really easy to miss, but you should definitely have it on your radar because it was such a cool vibe!
